Since 1973, we’ve expanded from a single building in Utah to a portfolio of 15 properties including commercial office space and residential communities with over 4,900 apartments across 5 US states, including Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.
Thompson Michie was founded in 1973 when Roger Thompson and Jim Michie began converting their first apartment building in Utah. Despite recessions, federal tax code changes, and economic financial crises that occurred in the1980s and 1990s, Thompson Michie Communities continued to grow by diversifying into property management on behalf of banks and lenders and evolved into a hands-on property management company offering apartment communities in clean, comfortable, functional communities.

Eric Thompson and Trent Richie, sons of Thompson Michie Communities founders, own the management company, focusing on growing their professional management over 4000 apartments and condos in 15 properties across 5 states (Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado) in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States.
